Ms. Covarrubias specializes in the representation of business and public entities defending employment, general liability / personal injury, construction defect, product liability, premises liability, and professional liability claims. Her practice includes a wide range of labor and employment issues which include the defense of whistleblower, wrongful termination, harassment, and discrimination claims, along with issues related to collective bargaining and discipline processes under the Railway Labor Act and other labor and employment issues.
She has contract and commercial litigation experience, in addition to experience in defending claims involving grade crossing and trespasser incidents for railroad corporations. Ms. Covarrubias has also represented multiple public entities against claims asserted under the California Tort Claims Act, Government Code section 830, et seq.
Ms. Covarrubias is a 2005 graduate of McGeorge School of Law, and joined the firm of Flesher McKague LLP in 2013 as a Senior Associate. She returned to the team in 2016 as Of Counsel after welcoming her son in the Spring.
Ms. Covarrubias is admitted to practice in both the state and federal courts of California, with a successful track record of civil jury and bench trials. She is also licensed to practice in Texas and Nevada (inactive).
